Improving the sustainability and productivity of the velvet and venison industries is important to Deer Industry New Zealand.  In order to ensure that ever smarter venison, velvet and co-product production, processing and tracing systems are developed and made available to New Zealand deer industry participants, Deer Industry New Zealand invests every year into venison, velvet and co-product research and development. In addition, research into new products and new uses of existing products aims to achieve greater value from deer than ever before, such that returns are improved to all parts of the value chain and the demand for deer products grows.
