DINZ Appoints New Venison Marketing Services Manager

Deer Industry New Zealand announced the appointment of Innes Moffat to the role of Venison Marketing Services Manager.

Mr Moffat comes to Deer Industry New Zealand with excellent experience in the marketing of red meat in Europe. His most recent role has been with Meat & Wool New Zealand based in Brussels where he was Market Manager, Continental Europe.

The primary focus of Mr Moffat’s role will be the execution of venison industry good activities. This includes responsibility for the development, implementation, management and evaluation of the Deer Industry New Zealand venison promotional programme in particular Deer Industry New Zealand’s role in the execution of the Venison Industry’s Five Year Strategic Intent.

“We are very pleased to welcome Innes to Deer Industry New Zealand.” said Mark O’Connor, Deer Industry New Zealand’s chief executive. “Although it is a very difficult time for the NZ deer industry, the future remains bright and I look forward to him making a solid contribution to the industry”.

Innes Moffat replaces Mat Moyes who has been Venison Marketing Services Manager for the past 4 years, but who is moving to Europe with his European partner. “Mat has been a fantastic colleague and has put in a lot of work for Deer Industry New Zealand. We’re sorry to be losing him, but wish him the best in Slovakia”.

Mr Moffat was raised on a sheep and cattle farm in South Otago and is married with 1 child. He returns from Europe in late April and will begin at Deer Industry New Zealand at the end of May.

Deer Industry New Zealand’s role is to promote and assist the development of the New Zealand deer industry.
