We'd like to thank you all those who attended the Next Generation Programme 2019 in South Canterbury on 21/22 August. We had a fantastic two days and it was the next generation deer farmers that truly made it a success. PROGRAMME DAY 1, 21ST AUGUST

Haldon Station farm tour/workshops

Workshop topics:

  1. Relevance of deer in a balanced mixed livestock environment. “How Haldon Station works”
  2. New developments. Irrigation investment
  3. Haldon Station Genetics. (The Deer Progeny test), DEERSelect.
  4. Haldon’s Environmental management programme and FEP’s. Future proofing your Business.
  5. Workshop Feature. Understanding and investing in farm business opportunities). Pathways to farm ownership/equity partnerships. What are the costs involved?
  6. From the P2P “The Tambo reports” (Returns from a deer breeding and finishing business, and costs of development costs returns for a velvet operation.)
