The Next Generation Programme has become a highlight in the annual deer industry calendar and now in it's 6th year, we're taking it to the mighty Waikato on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th of September.

While we're still confirming the final details of the programme, here's an overview which will hopefully help you in deciding whether to attend this year's programme.

DAY ONE - start at Gallagher's Hamilton HQ

2.30pm Travel to CK Import Export
3.00pm CK Import Export Tour and velvet presentations
5.15pm Travel to accommodation

DAY TWO - The Narrow's Landing
8.00am Light breakfast
8.30am Welcome
8.45am Overview of the deer industry
9.15am Two presentations with industry professionals TBC
10.15am Morning Tea
10.30am Workshop 1 - topics to include: Environment, Animal Health, Genetics and Feeding
12.00pm Lunch
12.30pm "How New Zealand Agri-food producers can leverage mobile technology to add more value" - James Rolfe, 2017 Nuffield Scholar and FMG Area Manager Taranaki
1.00pm Workshop 2 - identifying top issues and positive aspects of the industry and discussing how we can mitigate or maximise aspects
2.00pm Short presentation on the World Deer Congress
2.30pm Departure to Hamilton Airport (a few minutes down the road)

As details are confirmed, we will be adding these to the website here and also sending out to our Next Generation email list.

As usual, there is no cost to attend the programme but you'll have to cover the costs of your travel and accommodation. We'll be organising places for accomodation (you'll pay on arrival/departure) as well as a bus from and back to Hamilton Airport for those out-of-towners flying in. We're timing the programme around flights in and out of Hamilton so are expecting to be starting at 11.30am on the 12th and finishing by 2.30pm on the 13th.

ACCOMMODATION
We're working with a couple of accommodation options within walking distance of the dinner venue. Prices are from $105 and there are shared options. Please get in touch to confirm your requirements. SOME ROOM TYPES HAVE ALREDY GONE, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH ASAP IF YOU REQUIRE ACCOMMODATION.

So register if you're keen to come along and remember to have a talk to your local branches to see if they're able to support you to attend and get behind this great initiative. It may be an exciting opportunity for the South Islanders who haven't crossed the water before!
