Nominations close 4pm Friday 22 March

There are four NZDFA positions up for nomination as they become available by rotation (appointment by nomination and election, if necessary) on the Executive Committee and the Selection and Appointments Panel (SAP), and one producer representative to the Deer Industry New Zealand (DINZ) board.

Forms and further information can be found on the website here: deernz.org/industry-positions

If you would like to indicate your interest, or talk to someone in confidence about these positions, please get in touch with NZDFA Returning Officer Lindsay Fung on lindsay.fung@deernz.org or 027 668 0141.

Executive Committee Update

Member Karen Middelberg gives us an update on what the Executive Committee have been up to, including attending events and starting a review of the constitution, and how the Hawke's Bay is doing one year on from Cyclone Gabrielle.

What’s been happening around the country?

Producer Manager Lindsay Fung’s update - where in the country is experiencing El Nino, recent DFA events, a reminder for industry position nominations, and an update around environment and politics.

“Deer 2 Succeed” HBDFA Branch

The Hawke's Bay Branch finally managed to have their day after their event originally planned for 14 February 2023 was called off at the eleventh hour. A good decision too with everyone waking up to the aftermath of Cyclone Gabrielle!

Rising Stars – Te Awamutu, Season 2

In 2023 Waipa hosted the CK Import Export Rising Stars after a long hiatus but the mood was dampened by the impact of cyclone Gabrielle just a week before. With a clear run of non-events, the 2024 competition this weekend gone was a great success.
